A Work in Progress....
Wasteland scenes have dominated the fine art landscape photography scene for decades now, bringing about an important awareness of environmental degradation, climate change, and the need to heal the human/nature relationship.
Now it's time for hope!
We all know how serious environmental issues are (or have our heads so deeply in the sand that we'll never see it). In fact, ecopsychologists and environmentalists have coined the term "eco-anxiety" to refer to the feelings of hopelessness and despair the predominate our thinking about environmental issues and the future we're creating for the next generations.
Yet simultaneous to continued environmental harm, grassroots efforts are springing up nationwide bringing healing to the earth and to the human connection to the earth.
The purpose of this body of work is to illustrate the healing, nurturing - regenerative - relationships between people and nature. In so doing, the viewer is inspired to contemplate the many ways that they can take action and the collective power to make a difference that lies in the sum of small individual actions.
